Thomas Grinslade 94, passed away in March and is survived by his family including wife of 65 years, Eleanor. An author, historian and displayer this Life member and member of 44 years took three awards in the 2008 Display Show with his powder horn collection. Tom earned a degree in civil engineering. After serving in the U.S. Army in Korea, he entered the home building industry building hundreds of homes in Indianapolis and Geist. Tom's interest in American history, particularly the Revolutionary War, led him to research and collect guns, powder horns and artifacts from the period. He authored, Flintlock Fowlers The First Guns Made in America and Powder Horns Documents of History, along with numerous articles. Part of his powder horn collection is now in the National Museum of the United States Army and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
