James Layton, 87, of Portsmouth, OH passed away late last year. Jim served overseas in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1962, receiving the Good Conduct Medal.
He was a 50-year member, and an avid hunter and fishermen who expanded these hobbies into hand crafting leather sheaths for knives. The friendships he developed in this hobby were very dear to him. His sense of humor and laughter was enjoyed by all those that knew him well. Family and friends would frequently hear the phrase, "and another damn thing" while catching up on worldly events.
